EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Taha M. Khaled is the founder of BDO Khaled & Co. in Egypt, being a member firm of BDO International. The firm was admitted effective January 2000 as a member of BDO International, and was previously a member firm of one of the big 4, from 1985 to September 1999.
As a Chairman and Senior Partner, he is responsible for the overall activities of the firm, which includes Audit, Tax, and Management Consulting Services, as well as business attraction and retention, client service, and business development. Besides his original post, he was also the first BDO Senior Partner for the Middle East Region ever since early 2002, when the firm in Egypt hosted the first Middle East Regional Meeting.
Taha Khaled expanded the business in 2008 to establish, and become the Chairman of, the very first Business Process Outsourcing Company in Egypt to provide Finance & Accounting Outsourcing/Offshoring, Market Research Outsourcing, and Contact Centers services, named BDO Esnad.
Taha Khaled has served in the committee formed by the Central Bank of Egypt to set up guidance for the changes made on the Egyptian banking reporting requirements and accounting guidelines. He has participated in setting up the accounting and auditing rules controlling the capital market activities such as mutual funds, brokerage, and portfolio management. In addition, he served as examiner of the Audit paper of the Egyptian Society of Accountants and Auditors qualification.
Taha Khaled was a member of many other committees formed by various ministries, specially those responsible for assessing valuations of companies under the privatization program.
He is also a Board Member of Telecom Egypt, Chairing the Audit Committee, a Board Member of the Egyptian Society of Accountants and Auditors, and a Board Member of the Egyptian British Chamber of Commerce.
He received a Bachelor's degree (1964) and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (1968) from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (1980), and a Fellow of the Egyptian Society of Accountants & Auditor, Fellow of the Egyptian Society of Taxation, he is also board Member of the Egyptian British Chamber of Commerce, and an active member of the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA).
